Day-long intensive teaching skills masterclass
We will be running another Clinical Teacher masterclass:
Venue: Education North, Royal Manchester Infirmary
Unique opportunity to develop teaching skills in a supportive environment.
“I was able to find out new ways of teaching, and to practise giving feedback.” – Intercalating BMSc (Teaching in Medicine) Student, Dundee
Teaching is becoming an ever greater part of the role of a doctor. Foundation Year doctors are the first port of call for students on clinical attachments, and final year students are increasingly encouraged to teach younger students.
Yet many medical school curricula provide little or no training on teaching. In response to this, Fastbleep have created an intensive masterclass where students will learn how to plan and deliver a teaching session on clinical skills, and receive detailed feedback.
Includes:
- seminars on educational theory
- small group teaching sessions
- detailed feedback
- lunch and handouts
“I can now run engaging teaching sessions that are well-planned and based on theory.” – 4th Year Medical Student, Leeds
This is the third set of Clinical Teacher events run by Fastbleep – our first one in March was attended by students from all over the UK , and received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
“This was a great way to go over the intricacies of small group/clinical teaching in a day. Very good that everyone had an opportunity to practice and reinforce what they learnt.” – 4th Year Medical Student, Edinburgh
“The careers seminar was inspirational. I valued individual feedback from peer-tutors – it provoked my thoughts on how to deliver effective teaching in a clinical context.” – 5th Year Medical Student, Manchester
